Project HOPE

  • Project HOPE serves teens between the ages of 12 and 17 and their families who have a problem with alcohol and/or drugs.
  • The program goal is to help teens develop and practice “Real Life Skills” that can improve their understanding of the negative impact of their drug use and motivate them to decrease use.
  • The methods used are Motivational Enhancement and Cognitive Behavior Therapy.
  • The program provides 10 adolescent group sessions, 6 parent education group sessions, 4 individual counseling sessions and 4 family sessions.
  • Group sessions consist of educational and process components utilizing a structured curriculum.
  • The program is held on  Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
  • Family participation is an important component of the program.
  • The program is funded three ways –  State funding for families that meet income eligibility, Medicaid and self pay, sliding scale.
